Alpheus Environmental based in Bedford has won one of the prestigious RoSPA Occupational Health & Safety Awards for the second year running.
The RoSPA GOLD Award will be presented at a special ceremony on Thursday May 11th at the Hilton Metropole Hotel at the National Exhibition Centre. During Safety & Health Expo 2006, the UK’s premier health and safety at work exhibition.
The RoSPA Occupation Health & Safety Awards 2006 are being sponsored by NEBOSH (The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health), the leading health and safety professional examining body.
David Rawlins, RoSPA Awards Manager said “Alpheus Environmental have demonstrated how seriously they take health and safety management and are a fine example to many other companies. We would like to see more organisations following their lead”.
The RoSPA Awards are not just about reducing the number of accidents and cases of ill-health at work; they are also about ensuring that organisations have good health and safety management systems in place. They help to reinforce the message that good health and safety is good business and clearly demonstrate an organisation’s commitment to the achievement of high levels of performance in this crucial area.
Alastair Mason, HSEQ Manager at Alpheus said, ‘The work carried out by Alpheus is very diverse and is complicated by working on clients’ sites. It is therefore very important that the company has a clear and simple H&S management system. The desire to continually monitor and improve health and safety performance provides real, tangible benefits to the company through improved productivity, fewer accidents and less absence. The achievement of winning a second RoSPA Gold Award demonstrates the commitment shown by everyone within Alpheus in working towards a safer and healthier workplace.
