Alpheus Board

Tony is Chairman of Alpheus and its’ sister companies Celtic Anglian Water, Anglian Water Business National, AWG Utilities and AWG Property Ltd. He is responsible for implementing the strategic direction of these businesses which have a combined turnover of £500million across the UK and Ireland. He has over 25 years’ experience within the Anglian Water Group having previously held a variety of senior positions at Board level.

Declan, our Managing Director, is responsible for delivering the long-term strategic vision of Alpheus and the management of a wide range of strategic projects and collaborations.

Declan has an MBA from Dublin City University.

Richard joined Anglian Water in 1990 as a graduate trainee. Following seven years as a front line operational manager, he moved into a group strategic role working across Alpheus and AVH that includes acquisitions and the organisational restructuring of the Engineering functions of both businesses. He and his team support Alpheus in preparing for the future, managing its risks as well as helping the organisation to identify areas of improvement so that it is best placed to respond to competitive, regulatory and operational demands.

David joined the company in 2010.  He has overall responsibility for the company’s accounting function and monitoring, financial reporting and guidance for all activities, plans, targets and business drivers.

David has an MBA from Henley Business School and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA). He has more than 16 years’ experience within the Anglian Water Group.

Chris joined Alpheus in 2016 having worked for our sister company Anglian Water Business. He is responsible for driving compliance and ensuring consistently high standards of customer service. In particular, Chris looks for innovative ways of delivering services to customers and driving value from outsourced operations.

Chris has a strong operations background with over 14 years’ experience in the water industry and holds an MSc from Cranfield University.

Management Team

Joining Alpheus in 2000, Marcus is responsible for managing the delivery of our field operations throughout the UK. With over 20 years in the industry, he is a highly experienced and practical-minded Mechanical Engineer, and ensures that our high standards of safety, performance, quality and compliance are consistently delivered by his team of experienced engineers. He also has a strong focus on cost efficiency, working closely with our clients to develop and deliver opportunities. Marcus holds an HNC in Engineering and various Managerial and Safety qualifications, including IOSH (ms).

Having joined the company in 2001, Ming is involved in a wide range of activities including process optimisation, front-end feasibilities, engineering design, and delivery of capital projects on water and wastewater assets.

He is responsible for managing a Projects/Engineering team and for the successful delivery of all capital and engineering projects. Ming is a chartered chemical engineer having gained his university education in China and a PhD at Bradford University.

Dr Frank Wayman has a background in biochemistry and chemical engineering, with a fermentation-based PhD. He has worked in the water treatment sector for the last 14 years in the Technical & Engineering team at Alpheus. Frank is also a member of the UK delegation to the Combined Waste Water and Waste Gas (CWW) BREF Technical Working Group. As a cross-sector BREF, CWW sets the style and form for many aspects of sector-specific BREF documents, such as Food, Drink and Milk.

Paul is an Applied Chemist with over 30 years’ experience in the water and wastewater industry in both the municipal and industrial sectors.

He joined Alpheus in 2003 and has developed our service offering to industrial and municipal clients for both capital projects and operations & maintenance. Paul's process knowledge and commercial skills have allowed him to develop robust and cost-effective solutions to client process and operational challenges.

Scott is the Company Health Safety Environment Quality (HSEQ) Officer and has worked at Alpheus for 22 years. During Scott’s time with Alpheus he has worked in various operational roles throughout the business.

He is qualified as a Lloyds Quality Register Lead Auditor (LQRA) and as a QCF (Quality Curriculum Framework) trainer enabling the delivery of WAMITAB (Waste Management Industry Training Advisory Board) award. Scott is responsible for managing HSEQ processes and systems throughout the business.

Holly is responsible for the day-to-day management of operations contracts, ensuring all operations work is carried out in line with contractual obligations. She is also focused on delivering levels of service to all our customers.

Jonathan joined Alpheus in 2020 and as Business Development Manager is responsible for supporting its’ business growth plans. Jonathan has over 25 years’ experience in the water and wastewater treatment sector, and in capital projects and outsourcing. He has previously held senior sales, business development and management positions, including with SUEZ (Ondeo Industrial Solutions), and has a strong track record in the growth of business accounts as well as teams.
